Lady Glitch is a work created from the development of an earlier experiment called Resizeme which shows a monochromatic abstract texture creating different moiré effects while resizing it through the Mac OS's feature for previewing images on the desktop by pressing the spacebar.
Lady Glitch consists in real images which have first been converted to indexed color, a form of vector quantization compression. And then they have been rescaled using the same tool. This simple technique shows in real time how each picture generates mesmerizing visual manifestations through glitches caused by excessive compression.
Check out Resizeme as an earlier moire process using the same technique.
